Blog | CRN Recognizes Zane Long as 2017 Channel Chief

I’m excited to congratulate Zane Long on his achievement of being selected as a 2017 CRN Channel Chief! Channel Chief honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff on the basis of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community, and strategies for driving future growth and innovation. Zane has been an invaluable contributor to our team and an advocate for the IT channel. His accomplishments in the channel industry over the past 14 years are enough to speak for themselves, but I’m particularly proud of all of the work he’s done at RingCentral.

Over the span of one year, Zane has greatly expanded RingCentral’s partnerships through the addition of industry-recognized Master Agents and key strategic partners, for example, Carousel Industries, Intelisys, Avant, Telarus and TBI, just to name a few. In fact, Zane added 26 of these strategic partners in just the first half of 2016. Additionally, he has nearly doubled the channel team at RingCentral, bringing on folks both in the U.S. and internationally to provide above industry standard partner support.

Under Zane’s leadership, RingCentral has focused on taking the channel partner program to the next level, making partners collaborative stakeholders in the success of joint customers and bolstering global presence to meet the needs of the modern enterprise. As enterprises increasingly look to dispose of their legacy on-premise systems and make the move to the cloud, Zane has been a great champion for our channel partners, ensuring that they understand our business and have the right enablement support, such as certifications and training. Most uniquely, Zane has implemented a channel harmony program, wherein partners are rewarded in full while simultaneously being provided subject matter experts to assist them in closing more RingCentral business. He also has spearheaded efforts to better empower partners with valuable information and resources with the launch of RingCentral’s new partner portal.

We are pleased that CRN has recognized what we see in Zane—a focused leader, an industry expert, and a team player. We wish him hearty congratulations for all the hard work and for helping to improve awareness of RingCentral among the channel community.
